Morand Twirls a Gem for MSL Long Island
Pitching was the name of the game in a tight contest between the MSL Long Island Lighthouse and the MSL Dayton Dirty Reds. MSL Long Island won it, 2-0. MSL Long Island starter Jean-Luc Morand was in command. Svatopluk Vejvoda closed it out for his 10th save. MSL Long Island now has a 3-game win streak.

It was an impressive outing from the soft-spoken Morand, who tallied 7 strikeouts in 8 innings and allowed only 6 hits. Morand, who is tied for 5th in the SMSL in innings pitched with 71.1, raised his record to 6-5 on the year with 61 strikeouts.

Morand said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.
