Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Dirty Reds
|
MSL Kingston Township got a big-time effort from pitcher Ids Arens, but it wasn't enough to keep the MSL Dayton Dirty Reds from winning the game, 5-2. Arens threw 7.0 innings of 6-hit ball for the losing team. Guan-pei Yong picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. Marvin de Leeuw was tagged with the loss. Juan Sánchez recorded his 2nd save for MSL Dayton.
I-tsing Yang chipped in for MSL Dayton, stroking a crucial run-scoring single in the bottom of the eighth inning. For the game, the left fielder was 2 for 4 with 2 singles.
Yang said his team "played with determination."
MSL Dayton, now 13-7, holds down first place in the SL MSL.
