The MSL Cape Coral Hurricanes downed the MSL Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids, 7-2, at MSL Northern Virginia Ballpark. Glenn Page led the way, going 3-for-5 for MSL Cape Coral. MSL Cape Coral starter Sergio López was credited with the win after throwing 105 pitches over 7.1 innings. His record now stands at 2-0. MSL Northern Virginia has now lost 5 straight.
MSL Cape Coral used the bat of Dick Pound to capture the win. The third baseman jacked a 3-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Hurricanes ahead, 3-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a dandy.
"I'm not out there for personal accomplishments," Page told a MSL Cape Coral News reporter after the game. "I'm out there to help the team win, and that's what we did today."
