Cruz Excels in 4-2 MSL Thunder Bay Win
MSL Thunder Bay right fielder Francisco Cruz made his presence felt in the 4-2 Northern Lions BC triumph over the MSL Santa Catalina Condor. Cruz went 3-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Christos Tunnicliffe picked up the win with 7 innings of work. He allowed 2 runs on 10 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 6. On the season, he is now 2-4. With the win, MSL Thunder Bay raised its record to 17-15.

In a game filled with surprises, perhaps none was as big as Cruz's contribution. The MSL Thunder Bay first baseman is a relative newcomer. With two out in the top of the eighth, when the Northern Lions BC had the bases loaded, Cruz delivered a crucial 2-run single.

Cruz expressed little emotion after the game. "Every game we win now," he said, "is one less win we'll need to get in the end."
