Oaks Topple Dirty Reds, 4-3
|
MSL Oakland Oaks starter Marv Thomas pitched a strong game against the MSL Dayton Dirty Reds at MSL Oakland Ballpark, leading the Oaks to victory, 4-3. MSL Oakland reliever Octávio Vázquez picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Manuel Árias was saddled with the loss. Mathias Pujol closed the door for MSL Oakland, picking up his 5th save of the year.
MSL Oakland grabbed control in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and the bases empty, Raúl Vega delivered a solo home run, to make it 1-0 in favor of the Oaks.
"We'll just keep our nose to the grindstone," Thomas told the MSL Oakland Daily News.
At 8-4, the Oaks are currently second in the SL MSL.
