Victory Takes Kingfishers to 24-22
|
The home crowd had a good time watching the MSL Buffalo White Walkers and MSL Pittsburgh Kingfishers get after it.
The MSL Pittsburgh Kingfishers withstood an impressive performance by MSL Buffalo third baseman Jing-sheng Siu to defeat the White Walkers, 8-4, at MSL Pittsburgh Ballpark. Siu was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Jacob Napper got the win, improving to 5-3. He held the White Walkers to 3 runs on 5 hits over 7 innings, while striking out 9 and walking 1.
The Kingfishers got an important contribution from designated hitter Felipe de Rade, who in the bottom of the fourth knocked a first pitch curveball into center for a 3-run home run. It was his 4th home run of the season and put the Kingfishers ahead, 5-1.
"Enjoyed this one," de Rade told the MSL Pittsburgh Observer. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
The win gives MSL Pittsburgh a season record of 24-22.
