MSL Boston Patriots starter Gérard Varin pitched effectively against the MSL Ft. Worth Cattlemen at MSL Boston Ballpark. The left-hander spearheaded his team's 5-4 win. MSL Boston reliever Luis Aguilar was credited with the win, to go to 1-1. Graeme Boucher took the loss for MSL Ft. Worth. The Patriots, now 11-16, know that wins in July count the same as wins in September.

David Acevedo was the walk-off hero for MSL Boston. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Patriots shortstop hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"We're in a funk and we need to shake ourselves out of it," said MSL Ft. Worth manager Alwin Vreekamp.
