Kingfishers Win at MSL New Orleans, 6-4
|
The MSL Pittsburgh Kingfishers topped the MSL New Orleans Voodoo by a score of 6-4. Leading the way was right fielder Robert Tavares. Tavares went 2 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 and driving in 3 for the Kingfishers. Fu-quan Su got credit for the win, improving to 2-2. He allowed 4 runs on 8 hits in 6.2 innings. With the win, MSL Pittsburgh raised its record to 5-5.
Tavares had a timely hit for MSL Pittsburgh in the top of the seventh. With MSL New Orleans trailing 4-3, he turned a full count fastball into a 3-run home run. It was his 4th home run of the season, making it 6-4, MSL Pittsburgh.
"Enjoyed this one," Tavares told the MSL Pittsburgh Observer. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
