The Plattsburgh Puffer Fish beat the Capital Hill Interns, 4-3. Plattsburgh pitcher and Queens, New York, native Sean Long led the way. The win puts the Puffer Fish at 56-40, while the Interns drop to 47-49.

Jim Thompson found himself in a pressure situation in the bottom of the tenth. Facing Capital Hill hurler Gonzalo Fierro, the 19-year-old designated hitter hit a sacrifice fly. His 13th RBI of the season put the Puffer Fish on top, 4-3.

"This kind of game is tough on the heart," said winning manager Wallace James.
