Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Interns
|
Giustino Cotichini pitched well, but the Bompton Baby Lakers still lost the game, falling 4-1 to the Capital Hill Interns at Field of the Browns. Reliever Doug Irgoyen picked up the win. His record improves to 6-0. Giustino Cotichini took the loss. Capital Hill is now 45-44, Bompton 54-35.
Capital Hill used the clutch hitting of Ray McConnell to snag the win. The right fielder drilled a grand slam home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Interns ahead, 4-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.
"Nice to tuck this win away," said McConnell.
