Snowpeople Take Down Canucks, 2-1
|
The Ellesmere Island Snowpeople defeated the Moose Jaw Canucks, 2-1, in M3L Low A action at The Igloo. Ellesmere Island pitcher Robert Walls had a standout performance. Roberto Gonzáles earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 3 innings. His record is now 3-0. Júlio Pérez earned his 1st save in 1 chances.
Ellesmere Island took a 2-1 lead on Tesema Ewansiha's 2nd home run of the season. The solo home run came off Moose Jaw pitcher Joshua Gatchalian in the bottom of the eighth.
"I had pretty good command out there," said Walls.
