Snowpeople Prevail, 5-3, Over Moose Jaw
|
The Ellesmere Island Snowpeople picked up a win at Foresters Stadium, knocking off the Moose Jaw Canucks, 5-3. Starting pitcher Masato Kiyomizu was a big reason why. Kiyomizu got the win, improving to 4-6. He allowed 5 hits and walked 1 over 7 innings. Kiyomizu allowed 3 runs. Roberto Gonzáles, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 2nd save.
Francisco Hernández, the 19-year old right fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Hernández contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put Ellesmere Island up, 3-1.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Kiyomizu.
The Canucks, now 29-29, have lost 4 in a row.
