Snowpeople Stick Interns with 4-3 Loss
|
The Ellesmere Island Snowpeople topped the Capital Hill Interns, 4-3, with youngster Roberto Inostraza playing a key role. Inostraza was 2-4 with a home run, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for the Snowpeople in the win. The winner was Ellesmere Island reliever Alexander Ti, now 1-2. The loser was Tetsuzan Matsuoka. Earning his 4th save of the year was Júlio Nieto.
Gabriel Salinas had a clutch hit in the bottom of the eighth inning. With two men out and runners on 1st and 3rd, the Ellesmere Island first baseman hit a run-scoring single. That put the Snowpeople in the lead, 4-3.
"I'm proud of the way our guys played today to come out with this win," Salinas told the Ellesmere Island Daily News.
With the win, the Snowpeople have a record of 7-20.
