The rain made it unbearable at times; nonetheless, the faithful who endured the elements enjoyed themselves.
The Ladue Rams bested the Redwood Rhinos by a score of 7-4, with shortstop Emílio Núñes getting the main credit. On the day, Núñes was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 3 times for the Rams. The 5th-place Rams improved to 51-44.
Jesús Velásquez, who is tied for 8th in the SA- with a .355 on-base percentage, aided the Ladue cause with a run-scoring double in the bottom of the third. For the game, the left fielder went 3-4 with a double and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Velásquez said.
