Snowpeople Lose, 5-3, to Capital Hill
|
Starting pitcher Dave Caine pitched well enough to help the Capital Hill Interns beat the Ellesmere Island Snowpeople, 5-3. Caine went 7.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 8 hits, walked 1, and struck out 7. His record improves to 3-1. Earning his 3rd save for Capital Hill was Alejandro Quintana.
Capital Hill used the bat of Pablo Lodder to get the win. The center fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Interns ahead, 3-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"Been a rough stretch for us," said Ellesmere Island manager Jaime Torres.
The losing streak for Ellesmere Island has now reached 5 games.
