Gators Take Nail-Biter Over Ducks
In a low-scoring tilt between the North Ft. Myers Gators and the Long Island Ducks, Lawrence Higgins was the difference-maker. The North Ft. Myers right-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. North Ft. Myers reliever Jerry Scott got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Burraga Makuakane was tagged with the loss. With the win, North Ft. Myers is 8-5.

North Ft. Myers won the game in the bottom of the 18th inning. With one out and Burraga Makuakane on the mound for Long Island, center fielder Callum Pender hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing Gators fans to their feet.

"This place sure got loud," said Ken McDowell, the North Ft. Myers manager.
