Harbor Whales Get 7-1 Win Versus Capital Hill
|
Capital Hill had no answer for Greenport Harbor Whales hurler Alistair Mossop, who overwhelmed Interns hitters as the Harbor Whales coasted to victory, 7-1. Álex Tobías earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 3 innings. His record is now 1-0. The Harbor Whales raised their record to 6-6.
A critical at-bat came in the bottom of the seventh inning when the Harbor Whales sent 20-year-old designated hitter Efren Cereza to the plate with the bases loaded. The youngster shook off the pressure and drew a walk, driving in 1 run, to put Greenport on top, 2-1.
"Alistair just went about his business, throwing strikes," said Greenport manager Mark Tillman.
