Music Stick Uruguayans with 12-5 Loss
|
In baseball, each game is unique. This one was no different.
The performance of Waihoroi Ieke proved critical in helping Memphis beat Germantown, 12-5. The Music catcher went 2 for 5 with a home run. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Akil bin Abbud got credit for the win, improving to 4-3. He allowed 5 runs on 5 hits in 5.1 innings.
In the top of the second, with Memphis leading 4-3, third baseman Dustin Wallace hit a 2-run single. The hit came off John Haynes and put the Music ahead, 6-3.
"The name of the game is scoring runs," Ieke said. "We did a good job of that today."
Memphis is first in the Silver Low A with a record of 43-26.
