The Beaumont Crossbeaus withstood an impressive performance by Redwood shortstop Júlio Salinas to defeat the Rhinos, 11-7, at The Target. Salinas went 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Felipe Cervantes recorded the save for Beaumont, his 2nd of the season. With this game in the books, Beaumont is 17-52, Redwood 41-28.

Dwight Voermans broke a 6-6 tie in the bottom of the fifth with a run-scoring ground out. It put the Crossbeaus in front, 7-6. For the game, Voermans drove in one run.

Crossbeaus manager Manny Gonzáles wasn't all too pleased, despite the win, telling reporters that the performance highlighted some clear areas for improvement moving forward. He refused to be more specific, however. "I'm not gonna publicize our weaknesses," he said. "That stuff stays in the clubhouse."
