|
Ladue beat Ballard at Ballpark of Wellsville, eking out a 3-2 win. The win was due in large part to designated hitter John McCarthy. He threw 7.2 innings of 5-hit ball. The 6th-place Rams have won 5 consecutive games.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when Ladue pinch hitter Bryan Starling, facing César Macías, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Rams the 3-2 win.
In postgame comments, Starling said he was glad to contribute to an exciting win.
