Beavers Topple Rhinos, 2-1

The Ballard Beavers and Redwood Rhinos played a tight game with the hosts claiming a hard-fought win.
Ballard Beavers starter Donald Carr turned in a sterling performance against the Redwood Rhinos, leading his team to a slim 2-1 win. The save was credited to José López, his 4th.
The Beavers grabbed the lead in the bottom of the first. With no one out, Kang Meng, who is tied for 3rd in the SA- in runs scored with 35, hit a 2-run home run off J.R. Carnathan, putting Ballard in front, 2-1. For Meng, it was his 15th home run of the season.
"We came out on the wrong end of this one," said Redwood skipper Dave Parrish.
Ballard, now 33-23, holds down third place in the Silver Low A.
