Long Island got a first-rate effort from pitcher Lorenzo Silva, who frustrated Tijuana hitters en route to a 3-1 Ducks triumph at Ducks Park. Bobby Cooper finished to wrap up his 2nd save. With the win, Long Island elevates its record to 2-3.
The Ducks had to work out of trouble in the top of the ninth. The score was 3-1, Long Island, with no one out. Tijuana, with a runner on 1st, was mounting a threat. Kanne van der Velde dug in at the plate, but on a 1-2 fastball, he hit into a double play.
