The Redwood Rhinos got a superb performance from pitcher Tom Ward, but the Germantown Uruguayans still won the game, 4-2. Ward threw 5.0 innings of 4-hit ball. The win was credited to Jorge Martínez in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Tom Ward took the loss. Picking up the save was Orlando Lizardia, his 7th.
Justin Welch was vital part of the Germantown win. He was 2 for 3 with 2 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI. In the top of the third with two out, Welch hit a 2-run single. It made the score 3-0, in favor of the Uruguayans.
"I give credit to my teammates for this win. We got it done," Welch told the Germantown Gazette.
At 19-27, the Uruguayans claim 8th place in the Silver Low A.
