Redwood Topples Beaumont, 4-3
|
Redwood and Beaumont duked it out and the Rhinos came out victorious.
Starting pitcher Dean Mangin pitched well enough to help the Redwood Rhinos beat the Beaumont Crossbeaus, 4-3. The winning pitcher was Mangin, now 2-3. He tossed 5.1 innings of 1-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 5. Emílio García closed it out for his 12th save.
Soo-keun Yi, who is rated as the 15th best prospect by BNN, helped out the Redwood cause in the bottom of the fifth inning with a run-scoring triple. For the game, the second baseman went 1-3 with a triple.
Beaumont manager Manny Gonzáles said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
The Crossbeaus, now 10-25, have lost 5 straight.
