Allen hits 2 home runs in Uruguayans Win
|
The Germantown Uruguayans knocked off the Memphis Music, 7-6, at The Stage in Memphis. Jared Allen was a big reason Germantown won. The third baseman was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice. The Uruguayans, with only their 4th win in 18 games, have not had much to write home about in 2054.
Allen had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a first pitch fastball from Gael Hawke, he banged a 3-run home run to left, giving the Uruguayans a 7-6 lead. It was the 5th home run of the year for Allen.
"It wasn't a pretty victory," said Allen, "but we got it done."
