Crowley Beats Shady Side, 3-1

The Crowley Cajuns topped the Shady Side Zoomies, 3-1, in USPL Low A action at Terriers Ballpark. The standout performance belonged to Crowley pitcher and Sint Michiel, Curaçao, native Halmar Visscher. Visscher, now 2-3, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 4, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. Dae-hwan Park was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 12 of 14 save opportunities.
It could have been a different outcome for Crowley, had it not been for Paco Hernández, the 19-year old third baseman . Hernández contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning to put Crowley up, 1-0.
Hernández called the win "a lesson in teamwork."
The Cajuns lead the Premier Low A by 7 games.
