|
The Hicksville Hounds beat the Crowley Cajuns, 3-2, in part because of shortstop Rick Peters. He was 2 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The Hounds raised their record to 42-42.
Peters came through with some timely hitting for Hicksville. With Crowley trailing 2-1 in the top of the ninth, Peters hit a 0-1 changeup for a 2-run home run. His 10th home run of the season made it 3-2, Hicksville.
"We came out on the wrong end of this one," said Crowley skipper Neal Davis.
