Turner Hits 2 home runs in Warheads Win
|
Ballpark of Henderson was the site of a competitive game between the Ogallala Octopi and Amarillo Warheads.
The 3-1 Amarillo win over Ogallala was due in large part to Ron Turner. The Warheads left fielder was 3-4 with 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. The win belongs to Karol Pejemsky in relief. His record improves to 3-3. Allen Wagner took the loss for Ogallala.
Amarillo took the lead on Turner's 18th home run of the season. The solo home run, which came against Allen Wagner in the bottom of the sixth, made the score 2-1, Amarillo.
"We'll enjoy this win for now, but it's just one," Turner told local reporters. "We've got to keep it going."
Amarillo is now 37-44, while Ogallala is 34-47.
