Ogallala starter Allen Wagner pitched well against the Hicksville Hounds at Nebraska Aquarium. The right-hander led his team to a win, 5-4. Ogallala pitcher Ryan Lawson got the win, upping his record to 2-1. Juliano Chianca got the loss. Máximo Espinoza got the save, the 1st for him this season.

Ogallala took a 4-3 lead on Wei-fang Ping's 5th home run of the season. The 2-run home run came off Hicksville pitcher Juliano Chianca in the bottom of the eighth.

"The key at this level is throwing strike one," said Wagner. "Successful pitchers do it."

The Octopi, at 33-43, sit in 8th place in the Premier Low A.
