Fans saw a dandy of a game between the Hicksville Hounds and Amarillo Warheads.
Hicksville left-hander Jesús Cortéz helped his team edge Amarillo by the score of 3-2. Cortéz kept the opposing lineup in check. Getting the save was Juliano Chianca, his 11th.
Roderick Shelton tagged a home run off Wijnand Boone in the bottom of the seventh. His 2-run blast put the Hounds on top, 3-1. In all, Shelton had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"I made some pitches when I had to," said Cortéz.
The 5th-place Hounds improved to 30-32.
