The Crowley Cajuns beat the Hicksville Hounds, 6-4, at Hound Pound. Crowley second baseman Iván Garza had an outstanding performance. He was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Halmar Visscher, now 1-2, picked up the win in relief. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 2.2 innings. Crowley is now 38-14, 7 games up in the Premier Low A.
Garza had a timely hit for Crowley in the top of the ninth. With Hicksville trailing 4-3, he turned a 0-1 fastball into a 2-run home run. It was his 10th home run of the season, making it 5-4, Crowley.
"Our guys are never satisfied," said Crowley manager Neal Davis.
