Fort Knox Gets 8-1 Win
|
The Fort Knox Centennial picked up a win at Ballpark of Henderson, knocking off the Amarillo Warheads, 8-1. Starting pitcher Orlando Díaz played a key role in the triumph. In 6 innings, Díaz surrendered 2 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 3. He allowed no runs. Ben Huber recorded the save for Fort Knox, his 2nd of the season.
Fort Knox relied on the hitting of Jing-quo Au-Yong to pick up the win. The shortstop clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Centennial on top, 2-0. For the game, Au-Yong had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Au-Yong. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
The win elevated the Centennial to 21-13.
