The Hicksville Hounds wiggled past the Hudsonville Flanderses, 6-5, at Hudsonville Park. The win was highlighted by the performance of Hicksville pitcher Jesús Cortéz. Jorge Rosa, 2-0, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 3 innings. Hicksville is now 13-16. Hudsonville is 13-16.

Hicksville needed the clutch hitting of Paulaui Olakeakua to notch the win. The right fielder hammered a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Hounds on top, 6-5. For the game, Olakeakua had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"We had the game right there for the taking," said Hudsonville manager Don Martin. "But we decided not to take it."
