Fort Knox Gets 3-2 Win
|
Starting pitcher Fernando López was a major factor in the 3-2 Fort Knox Centennial triumph over the Shady Side Zoomies. López picked up the win for Fort Knox, going 7 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 1-3. Rick Burnett closed it out for his 3rd save.
Fort Knox relied on the hitting of Koen Weegerink to pick up the win. The right fielder clubbed a solo home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Centennial on top, 2-1. For the game, Weegerink had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
López told a Fort Knox Today reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
