Getting an impressive start from Kel Ellis, Myrtle Beach beat Walla Walla by the score of 3-2. Ellis got the win, improving to 10-5. He allowed 5 hits and walked 2 over 6 innings. Ellis allowed 2 runs. Manuel Liscano converted his 22nd save in 26 tries.
Myrtle Beach used the timely hitting of Mal Allen to capture the win. The shortstop socked a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Seahawks ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a big one.
Walla Walla manager Calvin Beck said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
Myrtle Beach currently is in 5th place in the Premier A at 52-38.
