Octopi Deal Zoomies 4-1 Defeat

Ogallala Octopi pitcher Allen Wagner was in fine form, leading his team past the Shady Side Zoomies, 4-1. Wagner, now 2-1, was the winner. In 7.2 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 4, walking 2, and allowing 1 run. Earning his 3rd save for Ogallala was Rhys Buggins.
Ogallala relied on the hitting of Wei-fang Ping to pick up the win. The right fielder ripped a run-scoring triple in the top of the fifth inning to put the Octopi on top, 3-1. For the game, Ping had 1 triple and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.
"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said Octopi manager Félix Cruz, "I like our chances."
The win puts Ogallala at 7-4.
