Octopi Sneak Past Zoomies, 3-2

The Ogallala Octopi had to overcome a fine effort from Shady Side pitcher Richard Miller to grab a narrow 3-2 win at Terriers Ballpark. Miller went 6 innings and allowed 2 runs. The win puts Ogallala at 6-4.
Ogallala used the clutch hitting of Wei-fang Ping to capture the win. The right fielder drilled a solo home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Octopi ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"I'm proud of the way we took care of business and got the 'W' today," Ping told the Ogallala Gazette. "Whatever it takes."
