Hopkins, Myrtle Beach Prevail in Pitchers' Duel
|
Seahwaks Stadium hosted a real pitchers' duel.
The Myrtle Beach Seahawks got a stellar effort from pitcher Colby Hopkins, helping Myrtle Beach score a win over the visiting Lake Erie Arryns, 2-0. Myrtle Beach has now won 3 straight, while the Arryns have lost 3 in a row.
Hopkins tossed 98 pitches over 6.1 innings to clinch the win for the Seahawks. The right-hander allowed just 2 hits, while racking up 9 strikeouts in the game.
Afterward, Seahawks manager Tom Oglander was ebullient. "That was a fun game to coach," he told a group of reporters, adding, "I hope it was just as fun to watch."
