Seahawks Sink Caterpillars, 5-0
|
The Myrtle Beach Seahawks topped the Grand Forks Caterpillars, 5-0, in USPL Single A action at Seahwaks Stadium. The standout performance belonged to Myrtle Beach pitcher and South Gate, California, native Ben Brock. Brock went 5.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 1 hit, walked 0, and struck out 7. His record improves to 7-4. Francisco Suárez, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 1st save.
Mal Allen made an early impact for Myrtle Beach when he stroked his 2nd home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which came with two out in the bottom of the first, put the Seahawks on top, 3-0.
"We'll enjoy this win for now, but it's just one," Allen told local reporters. "We've got to keep it going."
