Arryns Top Caterpillars, 7-1
|
Pitcher Zebulon Pike was sensational for the Lake Erie Arryns in his team's 7-1 triumph over the Grand Forks Caterpillars. Pike picked up the win, and it was well-earned. Pike, now 5-2, was the winner. In 5.1 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 8, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. The Arryns now have a record of 27-20.
The Arryns got a lift from right fielder Richard Oliver who had a 3-run home run in the bottom of the first inning off Romain Prigent. It was his 12th home run of the season and put Lake Erie in front, 3-0.
"We'll kick back tonight and enjoy this win," said Oliver.
