Seahawks Deal River Rats 5-0 Defeat
|
The Myrtle Beach Seahawks topped the Columbia River Rats, 5-0, in USPL Single A action at Columbia Stadium. The game was highlighted by the performance of Myrtle Beach pitcher Kel Ellis. Ellis got the win, improving to 4-1. He allowed 3 hits and walked 1 over 5 innings. Ellis allowed no runs. Myrtle Beach has a record of 11-7.
Myrtle Beach used the bat of Juan Salazar to get the win. The right fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Seahawks ahead, 2-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"They played a better game than we did," said Columbia skipper Kevin McCoy.
