The Monroeville Yinzers dealt the Grand Forks Caterpillars a 6-3 loss at The Cocoon. Larry Matthews was the star on offense. He went 1-3 with a walk and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. The win moves Monroeville to a record of 3-11.

With Monroeville leading 2-1 in the top of the fourth, Matthews hit a 2-run single off Grand Forks hurler Clint English. It was the 4th hit of the season for Matthews and put his team ahead, 4-1.

In comments to the Monroeville Bulletin, Matthews admitted that he doesn't always push himself. "But the results," he said, "speak for themselves."
