Both teams had their chances, but the Laredo Hawks eventually prevailed.

The Laredo Hawks beat the Levittown Blue Dragons, 4-3, at Hawks Field. Laredo designated hitter Don Knight had an outstanding performance. He went 2-4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Levittown has now lost 4 in a row.

The game was all tied up in the bottom of the eighth, until Knight delivered big-time for Laredo, stroking a dramatic run-scoring single off Larry Cox. The game-changing hit put the Hawks on top, 4-3.

"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Levittown manager Sal Haynes.
