Caterpillars Overcome Great Performance by Charles in Win
Myrtle Beach got a terrific game from left fielder Richard Charles. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Grand Forks, 9-7. Charles hit 2 home runs. He drove in 6 runs and scored twice. The save went to Richard Kinmont, his 2nd this season. The win leaves Grand Forks with a record of 2-7.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the bottom of the seventh, with the game tied, Manny Sánchez was at the plate when Grand Forks scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Caterpillars to go in front, 8-7.

"Nice to get this one," said Sánchez. "Wins have been hard to come by."
