Hobeaus Topple Bulls, 6-4
|
Despite a great performance by Belleville center fielder Szeto Liu, the Smoky Mountain Hobeaus defeated the Bulls by the score of 6-4 at Belleville Field. Liu went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Lien-ying Cheung earned the save, his 10th. The Hobeaus now have a record of 17-51.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Jesús Chavarría? The Smoky Mountain left fielder had a 2-run double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Hobeaus on top, 5-1. For the game, Chavarría had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"I know we have our doubters," said Belleville manager Jeff Rutherford. "But I still have high hopes for this team."
