Extra-Inning Win by Hawks Over Airmen
|
The Laredo Hawks eked out a 2-1 win versus the Alameda Airmen at Alameda Field. Nobody did more than pitcher Damon Colcott. He was terrific. Laredo reliever Mark Wood picked up the win, upping his record to 5-2. John Woods absorbed the loss. Éric Lemaire earned the save for Laredo, his 7th of the year.
Laredo used a clutch hit from Dan Rouse to get the win. The pinch hitter drilled a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Hawks ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a doozy.
"Our goal is to improve each and every day," Colcott told the Laredo News.
Laredo has now won 4 games in a row.
