The Laredo Hawks picked up a win at Hawks Field, knocking off the Eugene Vandals, 5-1. On the mound for Laredo was right-hander Ric Nelson, who played a pivotal role in the win. Nelson went 7.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 2, and struck out 9. His record improves to 5-4. The Hawks improve their record to 38-28 with the win over Eugene.

Though it wasn't a flawless game -- few are -- the fans who filled the stands at Hawks Field seemed to enjoy watching the USSL Single A action.
