Hobeaus Beaten by Airmen, 10-6
|
With catcher Hsueh-liang Kam leading the charge, the Alameda Airmen defeated the Smoky Mountain Hobeaus, 10-6, at Alameda Field. Kam, who is tied for 3rd in the SA with a .514 slugging percentage, was 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. With the victory, the Airmen record now stands at 24-32.
Had Arturo Llanet not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Llanet hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 7-6, in favor of the Airmen.
"We got the victory," said Kam. "That's all that matters at the end of the day."
