Blue Dragons Beat Hawks, 5-3
|
Starting pitcher Toshiki Matsushita pitched well enough to help the Levittown Blue Dragons beat the Laredo Hawks, 5-3. Michizane Honda earned the save for Levittown, his 6th of the year. At 33-20, the Blue Dragons are currently second in the Silver A.
The Blue Dragons got an important contribution from center fielder Ed Skinner, who in the bottom of the sixth knocked a full count fastball into right for a 2-run double. It was his 11th double of the season and put the Blue Dragons ahead, 5-3.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Levittown manager Sal Haynes. "It's usually not just one thing."
