Laredo Beats Kennesaw, 5-3
|
Laredo picked up a win at Hawks Field, bumping off the Kennesaw Jets, 5-3. Pitcher Ric Nelson was a major reason the Hawks emerged victorious. Mark Wood picked up the save for Laredo, his 1st of the year. The first-place Hawks have won 5 in a row.
Laredo took the lead in the bottom of the sixth. With two out and the bases loaded, Rob Martin stroked a 2-run single to make it 5-3, Hawks.
"We were the better team today. Maybe that won't be the case next game, but we'll enjoy it for now," Nelson told the Laredo News.
